Shares of Reliance Industries climbed 4% in Friday’s trade after Mukesh Ambani, his wife, and 3 children marginally raised their personal shareholding in the oil-to-telecom major.
Mukesh Ambani, who personally held 72.31 lakhs shares or 0.11% of RIL, raised his holding to 75 lakhs shares or 0.12%. His wife Nita, too, raised shareholding to 75 lakhs from 67.96 lakhs. Twins Akash and Isha who held about 67.2 lakhs shares, too have raised their holding to 75 lakhs.
Following the development, the scrip rose 4.34% to hit a high of Rs 956.95.
Devarshi Commercials LLP, a promoter group company, sold down its shareholding to Ambani family and other promoter group firms, Tattvam Enterprises LLP and Samarjit Enterprises LLP. Post the transaction, Devarshi Commercials LLP will hold an 8.01% stake, down from 11.21%.
Data showed shares of Reliance Industries have fallen 37% year-to-date compared with a 31% fall in the BSE Sensex. Overall, the promoter group shareholding in the oil-to-telecom conglomerate remains unchanged at 47.45%, the company said in a regulatory filing.
